Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles
- 3+ years of experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations
- Knowledgeable in both State and Federal Employment laws
- Knowledgeable in EEOC / OFCCP LAWS
- Experience conducting investigations – Employee Relations
- Ability to adhere to an expectation of complete confidentiality on all business matters
- Microsoft Office experience
Other Qualifications:
- PHR/SPHR certification preferred
- A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred
- Ability to build and maintain relationships easily
- High attention to detail
- Highly proactive with little direction needed
- Ability to work remotely
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions

Job Overview:
The Human Resources Manager will be a key part of the CurlMix team, and directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function including managing personnel. This position is responsible for leading a broad range of HR responsibilities, including employee relations, talent, performance management, career development, compensation, compliance, and benefits. This is a highly dynamic role that requires superior business acumen combined with HR competencies in all facets, including labor relations. The Human Resources Manager will be required to be on-site at our Chicago facility for a minimum of three days per week. Duties include:
- Providing ethical guidance and strategic advice to leadership on HR issues
- Identifying new opportunities where HR can add value to CurlMix
- Working directly with the CEO in developing and overseeing HR strategies tied to company business initiatives
- Assisting with implementing, interpreting, advising, and monitoring adherence to company-wide HR policies and guidelines
- Conducting difficult employee counseling sessions and investigations on issues regarding EEO, ADA, performance, and terminations and recommending courses of action
- Advising management on company policies as well as on standard employment laws and practices in order to mitigate employment related litigation
- Strategically partnering with management on the development of workforce plans and related employee issues for workforce management and planning related to business initiatives and goals
- Evaluating opportunities and providing recommendations to improve effectiveness in areas such as organizational structure and work processes
- Providing guidance to management concerning compensation related issues including merit increases, salary ranges, incentive pay, and other topics
- Assisting with the creation and implementation of organizational development and training programs
- Responding to grievances and other complaints regarding selection processes and other criteria used to make hiring decisions
- Supporting management team with performance reviews
- Assuring compliance with federal & state laws
- Overseeing and processing benefit enrollment
- Conducting exit interviews & overseeing the termination process to ensure completion accordance with company policy and procedure
- Complete other projects and duties as assigned
