Dear CurlMixers,
As I write this message, my heart is heavy and filled with grief.
This past week has been a whirlwind of emotions—a mix of pride, frustration, and resolve.
I want to take a moment to share my thoughts, from one human to another, as we navigate these times together.
First, I want to recognize the courage of the protesters in New York, Texas, and all over the world protesting deportation. <3
You remind the world of the power in standing united, in raising our voices in unison against injustice.
Your resilience mirrors the strength of our community.

As for DEI....
If corporations want to end Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, we will continue to celebrate those who want to continue to have inclusive spaces.
[Companies Pulling Out of DEI: McDonald's, Facebook, Target, Walmart, Toyota, Ford, Jack Daniel's, Amazon and several others.]

And I can’t forget to reflect on all that Ulta has done for CurlMix.
Their support has opened doors and amplified our reach in ways I could only dream of when we first started.
It’s proof that when we find the right allies, our impact grows exponentially.
We have to continue to vote with our dollars.
I also want to shine a light on the inspiring buy-in that Al Sharpton led at Costco.
It was a testament to what happens when we come together to support each other, breaking barriers and proving that our voices can shift narratives.

This same spirit fuels CurlMix—we are a family that uplifts, empowers, and champions one another.
Have you seen the Hillman TikToks?
They’re incredible!
They remind us of the beauty and complexity of Black history—a history that is too often overlooked but that we must continue to celebrate and teach.

CurlMix is part of this legacy.
We’ve built something that honors our roots while creating space for future generations to thrive.
But even with all these wins, I’d be lying if I said it’s been easy.
The platforms we’ve relied on—Amazon, Facebook—feel like they’re turning their backs on us and anyone they deem "other."
It’s a harsh reality, and at times it makes me feel powerless.
But I’ve learned that vulnerability is not weakness. It’s where our strength lies.
It’s in these moments that we dig deeper, lean on each other, and remind ourselves why we started in the first place.
CurlMix was built on love—for our hair, our community, and our shared journey.
That love is unshakable. Together, we’ve faced challenges before, and together, we will overcome what’s ahead.

Every product we create, every customer we serve, is a step toward changing the narrative.
We are proof that excellence cannot be ignored.
Community cannot be silenced.
And authenticity will always shine through.
So, to my CurlMix family: thank you!
Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you for supporting us.
And for being part of this journey.
We are more than a brand; we are a movement.
And even when it feels like the world is coming down around us, know that we are standing tall, together.
With love and gratitude, Kim CEO, CurlMix

Well said!! No other words necessary!🙌🏽
Agree with you completely Kim. Whenever you want to exclude half of society from contributing to the good of the whole, you do this at your own peril (and it will bit you in the a__ eventually). Remember to vote in the 2026 mid-terms if you don’t want to see more backsliding into the 1950s (for those who have forgotten history, “the good old days” were not good for everyone). Ina
This has inspired me and also gives us confidence and more determination to stand and know who we are in this world “A RACE THAT WILL NOT BE STOPPED.”
THANK YOU FOR SHARING. GOD BLESS YOU AND CURLMIX FAMILY.
Support you 100%. It’s the small collaborative efforts that’s going to get us to where we need to be
We’ve got to get in the driver’s seat and stop relying on anyone but us to move us forward. I don’t think you need Amazon or Target. You need you, and us!! We’ve got us.
