This is the first product I have used that has really made my curls WANT to come out. Mostly I have to really coax my hair into its curly state. I have bleached my hair and straightened it for years. There was a ton of damage and my hair was really dry. I have cut the damage off since this picture, but it even made my damaged end curl! I am much happier with healthier hair, and about 4" shorter, but it was quite long before. I cannot get over the amount of moisture in the leave in conditioner. I have the Strengthening formula and the Moisture formula, and I love them BOTH! I have found my perfect hair products with this.

VANILLA BERRY HAS THE BEST HOLD EVER!!!!! I was unprepared for just how well Missy (that’s what I named my hair) would perform with the Vanilla Berry line! The hold is amazing and there’s little to no flaking. If I use this line my W-N-G will easily last 10 days before needing to be redone. The smell isn’t overpowering which I appreciate because I’m prone to migraines. I can also use the flaxseed gel to smooth my edges so that’s a real bonus. Vanilla Berry will be my staple line going forward.

I love this product! Brought my dull, dry frizzy curls back to life with a bounce. I add four pumps of the serum to the moisturizer each application for most shine without looking greasy. This moisturizer much better for my texture than lavender scent with Jojoba oil. Noticed a big difference in moisture and curl definition. Only challenge is my husband dislikes the scent. He has a super strong nose and can smell the castor oil. Oh well. I’m not going back. Nothing a couple of spritzes of fragrance can’t fix! Thank you Curl Mix! I created CurlMix to serve curly women who wanted clean, natural, safe, and effective hair products.
I wanted to create a system that was so easy and effective, that every woman could do a Wash and Go.
Even for women with 4C hair like me and ESPECIALLY GRAY HAIR.
My Hair Story
1997
My First Relaxer
When I was 6 years old, my grandmother relaxed my hair, against my mother's request. My mother was so upset, and that led to 13 years of relaxers to acheive "straight hair" so I could feel "beauitful" and fit in at school.
2010
MY BIG CHOP
Sophomore year in college, I was inspired to go natural by my mother and several girls wearing their afros on campus. That semester, I cut all of my hair off in my dorm room.
2017
CurlMix Launch
I wanted to help other women embrace and celebrate their natural beauty, the same way my mother did for me. We launched a 4 step system to help you master your curls.
FAQ
Will my products be all natural and organic?
Yes, we will only provide natural and/or organic ingredients. We keep our labels simple, so you can understand exactly what is going on your hair & body. All ingredient information is on each individual product page.
Do I need to refrigerate them?
No, the water-based products include a preservative. This includes all of our products except any pure oil formulas. Putting them in the refrigerator does help them last longer but is not required. Unopened, they have a 2 year shelf life and after it is opened, 1 year.
What if I'm allergic to a few things?
Ingredients may have been derived from corn, soy, wheat, and/or nut products. They may have also been produced in a facility that makes those products.
We recommend conducting an "Area/Patch Test" as described below.
Area/Patch Test: This test allows you to test a small area of your skin for 24 hours before applying the treatment to a larger area. We recommend rubbing the CurlMix mixture on the skin near your elbow, covering it with a bandage for 24 hours and if there is no allergic response (redness, itchiness,swelling) then apply the treatment as directed in the instructions. If you have an allergic reaction, we do not recommend the use of CurlMix and suggest that you seek a medical professional’s consultation.
What preservative do you use?
Optiphen PLUS
We use a safe and natural preservative called Optiphen PLUS. It is a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative as well. It's ideal for preserving natural products that are used on the hair and skin. It offers both safe & effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth, making products last longer and safer to use.
How long will my CurlMix products last?
Approximately 2 years if unopened. Once opened, store in a cool dry place. It can last one year once opened.

Are CurlMix products safe to use on color treated hair?
Yes, they are.
