I originally bought the 10 for 10 to support the business. I have 2 curly sons and planned it try the products on them and not myself - because my hair is grey and I already have products that work. Well, I decided to try some of the products. I used the Day Dream scalp treatment, Mint condition liquid poo, wash & go steps 3 & 4. I diffused my hair afterwards. Understanding that heat needs to be applied after the process, it is difficult for me so my wash & go is without heat. It is unfortunate for me that the curl (2nd day) becomes bushy and dry. I’ve learned to take the time to wash and condition properly which gives me a good clean feel. A damp moistening in the mornings helps put the curl back in place.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive the Honey Hydration Leave-in Conditioner as the mystery gift!! Woohoo! I couldn’t wait to use it. Combined with the Honey Hydration Shampoo and the Honey Hydration mud mask, the leave in conditioner was the “ icing on the cake”. I truly love curlmix. The products are high quality and all botanical. I love this because I have a condition called psoriasis on my scalp and using these products have helped me to keep my scalp cleane. Without using harsh chemicals or shampoo to combat the itchiness and scales you get from the disease. My hair is medium length not quite long enough to make a ponytail. However, I've done twist and kept them in for a week and then I've done a twist out. Both styles looked so pretty. Since my hair is wavy my twist looked wavy, and when I took them down I had amazing definition and elongation. I am a lifer with Curlmix. The products smell so good some of them you would want to eat them. The products do come unscented the MasterCollection. Even though some are scented the fragrance is soft and subtle. Your hair feels soft after the first shampoo not like some where your hair feels hard. Your almost afraid to comb it, because it might break off. Curlmix has a 21 day Masterclass that teaches you how to shampoo right through to the styler. They bring in hair experts to teach you how, when and what is needed to have healthy hair. Hey y’all! I haven’t used all the products yet but I absolutely love the brown sugar deep conditioner. I’m trying the Jasmine Caviar hair mask next. I have to say that I am a little overwhelmed with the amount of products. I also want to be able to do my hair quick without having to be in the shower for a long period of time as well so I’m not using it as much. I think I may need the ultra hold to try as well. My Hair Story
1997
My First Relaxer
When I was 6 years old, my grandmother relaxed my hair, against my mother's request. My mother was so upset, and that led to 13 years of relaxers to acheive "straight hair" so I could feel "beauitful" and fit in at school.
2010
MY BIG CHOP
Sophomore year in college, I was inspired to go natural by my mother and several girls wearing their afros on campus. That semester, I cut all of my hair off in my dorm room.
2017
CurlMix Launch
I wanted to help other women embrace and celebrate their natural beauty, the same way my mother did for me. We launched a 4 step system to help you master your curls.
FAQ
Will my products be all natural and organic?
Yes, we will only provide natural and/or organic ingredients. We keep our labels simple, so you can understand exactly what is going on your hair & body. All ingredient information is on each individual product page.
Do I need to refrigerate them?
No, the water-based products include a preservative. This includes all of our products except any pure oil formulas. Putting them in the refrigerator does help them last longer but is not required. Unopened, they have a 2 year shelf life and after it is opened, 1 year.
What if I'm allergic to a few things?
Ingredients may have been derived from corn, soy, wheat, and/or nut products. They may have also been produced in a facility that makes those products.
We recommend conducting an "Area/Patch Test" as described below.
Area/Patch Test: This test allows you to test a small area of your skin for 24 hours before applying the treatment to a larger area. We recommend rubbing the CurlMix mixture on the skin near your elbow, covering it with a bandage for 24 hours and if there is no allergic response (redness, itchiness,swelling) then apply the treatment as directed in the instructions. If you have an allergic reaction, we do not recommend the use of CurlMix and suggest that you seek a medical professional’s consultation.
What preservative do you use?
Optiphen PLUS
We use a safe and natural preservative called Optiphen PLUS. It is a paraben and formaldehyde-free preservative as well. It's ideal for preserving natural products that are used on the hair and skin. It offers both safe & effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth, making products last longer and safer to use.
How long will my CurlMix products last?
Approximately 2 years if unopened. Once opened, store in a cool dry place. It can last one year once opened.

Are CurlMix products safe to use on color treated hair?
Yes, they are.
