JOB TITLE: VIDEO ANIMATOR AND EDITOR ASSISTANT

LOCATION: REMOTE & OCCASIONAL IN-HOUSE FILMING (CHICAGO)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience in creating quality video content
• Portfolio and/or video reel required
• Expert knowledge on all video media platforms
• Ability to film, edit, and create both live shot & animated videos within tight timelines
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and other Creative Suite products; and a proven capability in basic video editing
• Strong understanding of each stage of the production process, especially lighting, camera work, and post production/editing
• Ability to edit and post from rough cut to final deliverable
• Ability to operate cameras and, when needed, other production equipment to shoot footage with technical and creative proficiency
• Comfort with creating and editing in traditional and non-traditional video formats (e.g. mobile); 
• Design knowledge, and an understanding of advertising in the digital world

 Other Qualifications:

• Excellent time-management skills
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Audition skills a plus

• Prior experience working with advertising or promotional video is a plus.

• Solid background in video production, including filming, editing, color correction, and basic sound mixing
• Strong storytelling skills
• Beauty and/or lifestyle experience strongly preferred
• Ability to adhere to an expectation of complete confidentiality on all business matters
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions
• Strong collaborator who works well independently or on team projects
• High level of initiative and exceptional problem solving skills

 Job Overview:

The Video Animator and Editor Assistant will create and edit compelling videos for massive social audiences, and will be responsible for the entire video creation to the final production process. Your work will be an important part of increasing our brand's reach.  Duties include: 

• Editing and assembling recorded raw material or animated files into a finished product including camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects animation;
• Storyboarding of video concepts
• Designing and producing technical media tools such as tutorial-style videos, 1-5 minute outreach videos for YouTube and other digital web channels;
• Implementing the story, voiceover, and all technical aspects of video recording and editing;
• Performing post production work, such as editing, color correction and audio adjustments ensuring the video retains the CurlMix style specifications;
• Engaging in creative problem solving and evaluating video performance analytics;
• Translating web content to video, livestreams, and more;
• Creating broadcast quality pieces very quickly in a live environment;
• Reviewing all audio/video requirements so there are no technical or editorial mistakes; 
• Managing various projects and other duties as assigned by the CMO.
