How to Get the Best Wash and Go Ever on Kinky Coily Hair [ Type 4C / 4B ]
Cleansing Step 1
Completely saturate your hair.
Once it is soaking wet hair, apply the CurlMix Pure Aloe Vera Shampoo to your hands, rub together and apply it to the scalp and massage with your fingers tips.
Don't scratch your head, massage it.
If it feels like you need more product, add more water first, then add more shampoo.
You want to make sure you don't use too much because a little goes a long way.
If you have previously used products with heavy oils and butters before this style, you'll need to shampoo twice to lift the heavy products from your hair.
Don't scratch your scalp, that's how you get sores.
Conditioning Step 2
Section your hair and make sure it is soaking wet.
The more sections you use the better your definition at the end. Divide and conquer!
Squeeze the conditioner into your hands, rub it together and begin working it into the soaking wet sections.
Use the squishing technique to get it in all of your hair.
The CurlMix Pure Grapeseed Conditioner can act as a Deep Conditioner if you let the conditioner sit for 5 minutes before you begin detangling with a tool.
Then Detangle with a tool working your way from the ends of the hair, while lightly tugging to avoid tension at the roots.
Once detangled, two-strand twist and move to the next section.
Don't skip detangling, your definition depends on it.
Moisturizing Step 3
For coily, kinky textures, you will need to continue to work in sections.
Begin by rinsing one section. Once rinsed, ensure that it is soaking wet.
It literally needs water still dripping from the hair.
Then add 2 pumps or more of the CurlMix Pure Avocado Moisturizer (Step 3).
Finger comb in this stage, don't use a brush, it will make your hair frizz.
Use your fingers to help your curls to clump.
Don't skip this step, you need a base layer. And don't get out of the shower.
Styling Step 4
Add more moisturizer as needed.
Immediately after adding the moisturizer, add 2 pumps of the CurlMix Pure Flaxseed Gel (Step 4).
Continue finger combing to clump the curls.
Add more gel as needed, your hair should feel slippery and your curls should be super defined and juicy at this stage.
Once you've completed one section, repeat the process on the remaining sections.
Try to keep your fingers out of your hair until it dries at this point.
It will be hard but it's for the best.
Don't use a detangler in this step. Don't get out of the shower.
Drying
For coily, kinky textures, you have to SET the hair to maintain the length at this stage.
No product alone, with air-drying, will eliminate frizz.
If you want to maintain length, definition, and minimize frizz, you MUST set the hair with some kind of tool.
We recommend a handheld dryer using what we call the "Blow Down Method" on Low - Medium heat.
You may also use a cool setting or a diffuser, but you MUST "Blow Down".
You want to minimize the movement of the hair so it dries with minimal frizz.
We do not recommend air drying for best results.
Don't air dry.
Nighttime Routine
Make sure to protect your hair while sleep.
Use a satin bonnet to keep your cotton pillow from absorbing the moisture from your hair.
You may also use a satin pillowcase or scarf in lieu of the bonnet.

Drying
Air drying doesn't yield the most defined - frizz-free results.
However, if you don't mind some frizz, go right ahead.
If you want to maintain your style for longer, with more defined curls, you'll want to use a diffuser or hooded dryer to dry your hair.
When diffusing, blowing up or down will yield different results.
Blowing up with the dryer will give you more volume.
On tighter curls, this resembles more of a curly Fro Wash and Go.
While blowing down will give you more length and definition.
On looser curls, you'll want to diffuse upward for more volume. The technique depends on the style you're going for.
Don't shake or toss while drying, you'll get more frizz.
Nighttime Routine
Make sure to protect your hair while sleep.
Use a satin bonnet to keep your cotton pillow from absorbing the moisture from your hair.
You may also use a satin pillowcase or scarf to avoid the bonnet and double up on protection in case it falls off.
Consider "pineappling" your hair or putting it in two loose ponytails at night.
