In today’s quarantine-curl chronicles, we’re addressing the rough patch in the room… or should we say the rough patch in your new normal…
How to keep your Zoom look fresh while keeping it simple enough to actually work from home.
It can be a challenge to keep to a “get ready” routine while you’re at home all day long.
Who feels like doing all that, right?
But work calls still need a bit of a switch-up. So, we’re sharing 6 quick tips to refresh your Zoom look without a ton of effort.
Number One
Deep condition your hair the night before your Zoom call.
This is super important for not only you, but how your hair looks.
Hydrate your hair. You want the camera to be able to see how moisturized and hydrated your curls are.
A great deep conditioner is key for this!
Number Two
Swap out your shirt. Because when you get on your Zoom call, not only do you want your hair to look good, you want yourself to look good.
So, swap out your pajama top for a nice dress shirt.
You want to look crisp, clean, and not like you just rolled out of your bed. And don't worry about your bottoms. You can still keep on your sweatpants. Just to make sure to change into a nice dress shirt.
CurlMix tip: If you're wearing pjs as your bottoms, do not stand up on the call! Politely scootch out of the frame.
Number Three
Blowdry.
We recommend flipping your hair over, then using your diffuser for hold and volume. It'll look so good on camera!
Zoom calls will be a breeze and you'll look better than ever.
Number Four
If you want to be able to wake up the next day and not have to worry about the mess that's on top of your head, put in a moisturizing leave in conditioner.
It’ll keep your curls on the up-and-up the next day.
Number Five
Use a serum!
Of course, you want your curls to look hydrated at all times.
So if you have time for a quick little intermission, grab your favorite serum.
All you want to do is:
- Spray some on your hand
- Rub your hands together
- Fluff your hands through your hair
And voila!
Instant Zoom-ready hair.
Number Six
And this one is very important for your Zoom call.
Make sure that you are in an appropriate environment to take the call.
If you're on a call for business-related things, job interviews, or anything of this nature, you want to make sure that there's no craziness going on behind you.
Distractions won’t just take away from your look, but they’ll also derail your call.
And in these quarantine chronicles, who wants to schedule a makeup call just to rehash everything you could have done earlier?
No one, that’s who! So, make sure you’re in a quiet, distraction-free environment to take your Zoom calls for work.
Alright, that wraps it up for my 6 tips on how to re-energize your curls for your Zoom calls.
